"Time Spent in Timewell is Time Well Spent"

So I spent the last week in Illinois, just outside a little town called Timewell. Emphasis on the "little". The folks I was staying with had 5 horses on their property, which as you can imagine made me quite happy. So, a little bit of photography later...

Black and White

So I'd like to start a Black and White Equestrian Photography series. Originally I was thinking it would be fun to just do squares, but not every picture works well in a square. So we'll see what happens.

In any event, here are a few candidates for the series!

As always, clicking the image will pop up a larger size in a new window. Please don't take and use these images without contacting me first at kaylan@drawing-on-walls.com!

Katydid Marathon

So, Day Two of the Katydid event saw the Marathon. The teams go through a designated course and have to navigate "hazards". The hazards are basically series of gates and posts, with "scary" decorations or water added in to distract the horses. Very neat, and very difficult to photograph! I took nearly 650 pictures today, and will be editing them for awhile. Unfortunately because of the way the hazards are set up, its really difficult to get good pictures of the horses in the hazards.

Tomorrow I'll get a post up of the beginning of my Equestrian Black & White Square series. I'm excited about this one!

As always, click for a larger image! Also, if you'd like to see more feel free to check out my Flickr Photostream.

Katydid Time

This weekend marks the 2009 Katydid 3-Day Driving Event in Aiken, South Carolina. I had the pleasure of attending Day 2 of Dressage, and man what a gorgeous day! Some beautiful horses out there, with some beautiful scenery.
